Classic Béchamel Sauce Mix

A versatile gluten-free sauce base, what’s more, this product contains no palm oil! Our Béchamel Sauce Mix tastes and performs just like a kitchen-made béchamel without the time consuming make up. Once made up it will not lump, thin or skin and has superior hot holding properties. Perfect for souffles and veloutés, as well as lasagnes and moussakas.

**Directions to make classic Béchamel sauce:

  1. Simply whisk 125g of dry powder mix with 1 litre of cold water.
  2. Bring to the boil stirring continuously.
  3. Allow to simmer fir 5 minuets until the sauce thickens.

Chef'sTips

For a creamier sauce, use milk instead of water – use 120g of dry power to 1 litre of cold milk.
Use Béchamel Sauce mix to create a velvety smooth velouté, using 125g of mix with 1 litre of Fish or Chicken stocks, great for banqueting sauces and pie fillings.
Make up and add to the cooking process of your scrambled eggs to keep them moist during service.
Use as a base for your own creations, whether you wish to add cheese for a mornay or cheese sauce, or parsley for a classic parsley sauce.
You might also want to add to a white wine and cream reduction to make a classic cream sauce.
