Making food matter for the working kitchen has never been so important.
Chefs are facing so many challenges with staff and skills shortages, coupled with the increasing costs of food inflation. The ability to offer quality, reliable, consistent, and innovative solutions to chefs across all types of working kitchens is becoming a real point of difference for Foodservice manufacturers.
This is why the acquisition of Zafron Foods by Solina Group marks a key milestone for Essential Cuisine. London based Zafron Foods is a second-generation family business specialising in the manufacture of high-quality mayonnaise, sauces, condiments, dressings, chutneys and deli fillers. It’s evolution over the years has followed a very similar pattern to the customer centric growth of Essential Cuisine.
Being acquired by Solina Group 4 years ago allowed Essential Cuisine to tap into the Group’s capability and extend its reach into new sectors. The recently launched Essential Cuisine Premium Frozen Range made at Solina UK in Elland is a prime example of that culinary extension.
Working closely together will move both Zafron Foods and Essential Cuisine forwards in becoming one stop solutions shops. Essential Cuisine’s chef to chef approach and reach across sectors including pubs, restaurants, contract caterers, education and healthcare will help Zafron Foods enter new markets, whilst the high quality, ambient and chilled Zafron Food solutions will support Essential Cuisine in adding further value to its existing customer base.
“This is a great opportunity for both Zafron Foods and Essential Cuisine to work together in addressing the complex challenges faced by the Foodservice industry”, Heather Wilde, General Manager of Essential Cuisine, said. “The quality and range of Zafron Foods solutions combined with the authentic chef to chef approach of Essential Cuisine is a collaboration set to benefit both new and existing customers.”
