Following the announcement that Matt Abé is the new Chair of Judges for National Chef of the Year, his brief for this year’s competition has been unveiled. This year the criteria focuses on demonstrating excellent culinary skills across all disciplines, the creative use of local and global sustainable ingredients and the avoidance of any unnecessary food waste.
Springboard FutureChef is a schools-based programme across England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland that supports the development of key life skills, whilst inspiring young people to pursue an exciting career within the world of hospitality. The programme helps to support students build industry based culinary skills and knowledge, as well as connecting teachers and students with industry professionals. The Springboard FutureChef competition is now the biggest school culinary competition in the UK!
The Riso Gallo’s UK & Ireland Young Risotto Chef of the Year competition, which is aimed at young chefs aged 17-23-years-old either in education or starting their professional careers, has officially opened for entries.
Hotel, Restaurant & Catering (HRC) is set to return to ExCeL, London on 25-27 March 2024 where visitors will have the chance to meet and reconnect with over 1500 businesses created specifically for hotel, restaurant and catering professionals.
