Essential Cuisine are delighted to support Harrogate Food Angels and the care industry, by volunteering and donating British ingredients during National Meals on Wheels Week (2nd - 6th November 2020). This campaign is being lead by the NACC to celebrate the magnificent work of the frontline meals on wheels services across the country.
Harrogate Food Angels were formed in 2012, with an aim to provide a quality, hot meal delivery service for individuals who may not be able to source or prepare their own food. Today, this service has never been more important as the COVID pandemic has seen a huge amount of vulnerable individuals confined to their homes, reliant on services just like this one.
Stephen and his catering team at Harrogate Food Angels are long term users of Essential Cuisine’s high quality, simple to use ingredients that are suitable for a variety of dietary requirements. Essential Cuisine wanted to give something back, by donating British ingredients to the organisation to thank them for the amazing work that they do each and everyday.
Essential Cuisine’s Account Manager, Andrew Rogerson commented, “I try to volunteer at Harrogate Food Angels at least two or three times a year, and have been doing so for the past seven years. It’s so rewarding to see the difference that these meals make to peoples lives, particularly at this challenging time.”
Sue Cawthray, Chair of NACC said "I'm delighted that Essential Cuisine are supporting National Meals on Wheels week. Today, Andrew
has seen the value that EC products add to Harrogate Food Angels, as well as the response from people receiving the meals. This is a lifeline to many in the current climate."
