Throughout May, Essential Cuisine welcomed Clara Guillot, a student at Rennes School of Business, who joined the Marketing team for a month-long internship. During her time with us, Clara gained insight into the different areas of marketing, experienced day-to-day life within a business, and developed an understanding of the many functions that support its success.

We asked Clara to share her experience in her own words:

"During the first part of my internship at Essential Cuisine, I had the opportunity to discover many different aspects of the company and gain a better understanding of how a business operates on a daily basis.

This month, I joined the marketing team in Winsford and had the chance to explore several departments such as accounting, marketing, design, human resources... Each team warmly introduced me to their roles and responsibilities, which helped me understand how every department contributes to the company’s success. It was very interesting to see how all teams collaborate and communicate together.

One of the highlights of my internship was participating in tasting session. This experience allowed me to better understand the company’s products, their quality, flavours, and the importance of customer experience. It was both enjoyable and very insightful.

I also had the opportunity to attend the Dunsters Farm trade show, where I discovered many different products and brands beyond Essential Cuisine. This experience showed me how important communication, visibility, and product presentation are in the professional world. It was fascinating to see how companies promote their products and connect with customers and professionals.

Another part I particularly enjoyed was taking part in the marketing team meetings. I liked seeing how ideas were exchanged and how projects were developed collaboratively. These meetings helped me understand the importance of teamwork, creativity, and communication in marketing.

Overall, this internship has been an incredibly rewarding experience. I have learned a lot about the professional world, developed new skills, and gained valuable insight into the different roles within a company. I was pleasantly surprised by the trust the team placed in me throughout my internship. Thanks to this confidence, I had the opportunity to work on interesting and meaningful tasks, which made my internship experience much more concrete, engaging, and rewarding. Being able to actively contribute to projects allowed me to learn a lot and feel truly involved in the team’s work.
