Satay Filling (choose one or mix):
800g chicken thigh, thinly sliced
800g firm tofu, cubed
800g mushrooms, sliced
Satay Marinade:
50g Essential Cuisine Street Food Chef Peanut-Free Satay Style Seasoning
30ml Vegetable oil
15ml Soy sauce or Tamari
100ml Coconut milk
10ml lime juice
Tacos & Toppings:
20 small corn or flour tortillas
200g shredded red cabbage
100g grated carrot
30g spring onions, finely sliced
Fresh coriander, chopped
30g red chillies, thinly sliced (optional)
Lime wedges, for serving
Vegan mayo or Essential Cuisine Smoky El Diablo Inspired Sauce (optional)
Marinate the Filling
1. Mix your protein of choice with the marinade ingredients. Let sit for 10–15 mins to absorb flavours.
Cook Until Charred
2. Sauté or grill the marinated filling over high heat until golden and slightly caramelised (6–8 mins).
Warm the Tortillas
Toast tortillas briefly in a dry pan or grill to soften and slightly char.
Assemble the Tacos Layer each tortilla with satay filling, shredded cabbage, carrot, spring onions, and a drizzle of vegan mayo or Street Food Chef Smoky El Diablo Inspired Sauce.
Garnish & Serve
