The 2019 competition is well underway following the semi-finals, with three outstanding young chefs – and three ‘wildcard’ judges picks; those deemed simply too good to not progress – making the grade.
The three semi-finalist winners for 2019 were crowned as Adam Green from Twelve Restaurant and Lounge Bar (Lancashire), Bethan Disley-Jones from The Art School (Liverpool), and Sean Noonan from The Griffin Inn (Lancashire).
The three remaining judges picks chosen as Jan Vrancken from The Cartford Inn (Preston), Oliver Fitton-Thomas from The Ryebeck Hotel (Cumbria), and Edwin Kuk from The Art School (Liverpool).
A Masterclass will now take place on 8th May, where the finalists will be treated to a top chef demonstration and lunch at Mana Restaurant, Manchester; a last chance opportunity to ask questions of the judges before the Final.
The Final and awards dinner will take place on 15th May, and will see the six chefs cook their three course meals for the guest judges, who include Great British Menu star Ellis Barrie, and Vice President of the prestigious British Culinary Federation Matt Davies.
