Team Essential are taking to the water for the next in a series of charity challenges in aid of a cause very close to our hearts.

On Saturday 7th September, over 20 Essential Cuisine colleagues will travel 12 miles in one or two people kayaks, travelling down the stunning Cheshire waterways from Farndon to Chester.

Never one to shy away from a challenge, the team effort is just the next event in our ongoing support of St Luke’s Hospice who we have partnered with for several years. Previous activities have included walking 34 miles in one day of the Sandstone Trail, and climbing Mount Snowdon which alone raised £7300.

St Luke’s is a local charity that cares for those with life limiting illnesses, delivering symptom control, end of life care, and complementary therapies. Lasy year, we lost a colleague to cancer, the lovely Paul Bailey, who joined our Production team in May 2015. In his later days, he was admitted to St Luke’s Hospice, Winsford, where he received fantastic care and support, until he sadly passed away in March 2018. With the additional care and support that Paul and his family received, we are even more determined to push ourselves and raise money to enable St Luke’s to continue the fantastic work they do.
