 At the final heat of the 2011 North West Young Chef Competition, Danielle Heron cooked up a winning trio of dishes to secure her place in the final on 8th June. The Greater Manchester Heat took place on 27th April at the fantastically equipped new catering college kitchens at Manchester College, Fielden Campus in Disbury.
Although being a full time second year student at Manchester College, 18 year old Danielle shows her dedication to her future career by also working 3 days a week at Ramson of Ramsbottom in Bury. Read more>>

As the starters came out, the competition was still wide open at this year’s Merseyside Heat of the North West Young Chef Competition. Six chefs did battle in a closely fought heat, with glory finally going to Rikki Vidamour, Chef de Partie at the London Carriage Works in Liverpool.
Rikki faced tough competition from Tomas Krasnan (Hilton Liverpool), Sam Wilson (Thornton Hall Hotel, Wirral), Matthew Dougherty (Garretts Restaurant, Wirral), Dominic Linton (The Red Door, Wirral) and Iain Stansfield (The Griffin Inn, Eccleston). Read more >>

It was smiles all round at Cassis Restaurant at Stanley House in Mellor, Lancashire as their Commis Chef Lewis Gallagher became the 2011 Lancashire Young Chef of the Year by winning the Lancashire Heat of the North West Young Chef Competition on 8th April 2011.
Stanley House are no strangers to this competition, as their Senior Chef de Partie Martin Hargreaves won the Lancashire Heat last year. Read more>>
