ESSENTIAL CUISINE SPONSOR MASTER CHEFS OF GREAT BRITAIN!

Master Chefs of Great Britain’s Young Chef of the Year 2010Tom Orton from The Lovelady Shield Hotel in Alston has been hailed Master Chefs of Great Britain’s Young Chef of the Year 2010, sponsored by Essential Cuisine.

Pipped to the post was runner-up Tom Lawson from Sheffield College, one of eight young finalists who battled for the prestigious title at a cook-off at Westminster Kingsway College.

The award was introduced this year to emphasise the value of healthy competition, constructive feedback and recognition in a young chef’s life and complement the Young Pastry Chef competition run by the Masterchefs of Great Britain. Read more>>

SUCCESS FOR STAFFORDSHIRE’S 2010 YOUNG CHEFS

Young Chef FinalistsWinners of the Essential Cuisine Sponsored Taste of Staffordshire Young Chef of Tomorrow and Master Chef of the Year 2010 were announced last night at a gala dinner and awards ceremony held at The Moat House Hotel, Acton Trussell. The ceremony was attended by restaurateur Sarah Willingham of BBC TV’s Restaurant series and new patron of Taste of Staffordshire.

The announcement followed a challenging two hour ‘cook off’ for the 12 finalists at Stafford College during the day which included preparation of a three course meal using seasonal Staffordshire ingredients costing under £20. 

Initiated by the Taste of Staffordshire, the competition aims to raise standards and develop culinary talent, promote local dishes and produce, and celebrate Staffordshire’s distinctive gastronomic appeal.  Read full story>>

ESSENTIAL CUISINE SUPPORTING THE TSC TRUST AGAIN

Essential Cuisine has once again sponsored a family holiday through the Trewan Sands Children's Trust. Caring for a child with a disability or terminal illness can be a huge responsibility, not only physically and mentally but also financially. Many of these families are on a low income or benefits as they are forced to give up work to look after their sick or disabled child, and as such rarely, if ever, get the chance to enjoy a family holiday together. Essential Cuisine has stepped up its commitment to chefs trying to forge a dream career in the competitive world of catering by backing The Master Chefs of Great Britain’s Young Chef of the Year 2010. 

The competition is open to young chefs who have or are working with, studying under or have the backing of a Master Chef of Great Britain and achieve their Advanced Training Diploma this year. Read more
