NorthWest Fine Foods Young Chef of the Year 2005

We were delighted to sponsor this prestigious competition which seeks out bright new talent in our home region. Nigel was one of the judges in this year’s competition along with other top chefs including Simon Rimmer, Steven Doherty, Robert Kisby and Brian Mellor. After a series of regional heats, the son of Michelin starred chef Nigel Haworth was crowned North West Young Chef of the Year 2005. Kirk, 18, is a trainee at Northcote Manor in Blackburn and scooped the title after beating off some off the best young culinary talents from Merseyside, Manchester and Cheshire.

Nigels College tour on the Art of Stock Making

At a time when all in the industry are trying to encourage the continued incorporation of basic chef skills in the college curriculum, Nigel has been doing his bit in lecturing to college students on the importance of good stock in the kitchen.

Restaurant Magazine coverage July 2005

Whilst we have had lots of great coverage in the press recently we were particulalry delighted to receive the highest scores in the recent competitive product tasting in Restaurant Magazine. With 9 out of 10 for both our Game Glace and Beef Demi Glace, we outscored all comers, and there were kind words too; "I have to say, it's pretty damn perfect. How do they do it?" You can't get much better than that!
